For the third year, Ford has teamed up with the Tom Joyner Morning and Rickey Smiley Morning Show to launch the 2015 Ford HBCU Community Challenge, which will support winning students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities with $75,000 in scholarships and prizes.
This year, student teams are encouraged to submit innovative proposals that creatively address an urgent community need, focusing on at least one of four relevant areas: mobility, sustainability and water, alternative energy, and systematic approaches to meeting community needs.
In December, three teams will be chosen to present their proposals before a panel of judges at Ford World Headquarters, including Tom Joyner and Ford executives. The winning team will receive student and university scholarships while the remaining finalists will be awarded a grant to help them implement their proposals.
Riverside Ford wishes all of the participants luck!
