Since Ford introduced EcoBoost technology, it has been receiving awards for its engine lineup. This year has been no exception, since the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that powers the Ford Focus RS has earned a coveted spot on the Wards 10 Best Engines list. This is the first time the engine, which was specially engineered for the Focus RS, has received an award.
This 2.3-liter powertrain puts out a healthy dose of horsepower, coming in at 350 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque when it uses 93-octane fuel. It has been created to offer superior driving performance to its customers, including an all-new, low-inertia twin-scroll turbocharger. With its unique engineering, the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine can sprint from zero to 62 mph in just 4.7 seconds, making this performance-oriented hatchback a car lover’s dream.
Along with this special powertrain, the Focus RS also has four drive modes and is the first-ever model to have Ford Performance’s unique and innovative All-Wheel Drive with Dynamic Torque Vectoring, helping it achieve class-leading cornering speed and an overall better ride.
Ford’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine is also available on the 2017 Ford Mustang. On this model, it easily achieves 310 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. To learn more about the engine, stop in to Riverside Ford for more information.
