Ford 2.3-liter EcoBoost Engine Named on Wards 10 Best Engines List

EngineSince Ford introduced EcoBoost technology, it has been receiving awards for its engine lineup. This year has been no exception, since the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that powers the Ford Focus RS has earned a coveted spot on the Wards 10 Best Engines list. This is the first time the engine, which was specially engineered for the Focus RS, has received an award.

This 2.3-liter powertrain puts out a healthy dose of horsepower, coming in at 350 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque when it uses 93-octane fuel. It has been created to offer superior driving performance to its customers, including an all-new, low-inertia twin-scroll turbocharger. With its unique engineering, the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine can sprint from zero to 62 mph in just 4.7 seconds, making this performance-oriented hatchback a car lover’s dream.

Along with this special powertrain, the Focus RS also has four drive modes and is the first-ever model to have Ford Performance’s unique and innovative All-Wheel Drive with Dynamic Torque Vectoring, helping it achieve class-leading cornering speed and an overall better ride.
